SLEDGING accident victims Lisa Tattersall and Joanne Selby are trying to look on the bright side from their hospital beds after nurses christened them "Sister Sledge."
Lisa from Haslingden, and Joanne, from Ramsbottom, became pals and earned their nickname -- taken from the top 1970s girl disco group -- on the orthopaedic ward of Fairfield General Hospital, Bury, where they were both taken after sledging accidents.
Joanne (pictured), 38, of Victoria Street, Ramsbottom, was the first to arrive on the ward. She broke two bones in her leg while sledging with her children on Holcombe Hill last Thursday afternoon.
Lisa, 21, joined her on Saturday after she fractured a bone in her spine in a sledging accident at Holden Vale, Helmshore.
Joanne, a laboratory technician at Manchester Royal Infirmary, said: "It was my idea for me and the children to go sledging, but on my first go this happened.I never thought I'd end up in hospital after sledging.
"When Lisa came in as well after a sledging accident everyone thought it was funny and started calling us Sister Sledge."
Lisa, who lives off Grane Road in Haslingden, faces at least six weeks lying still on her back in hospital after fracturing a bone in her spine when she fell off her sledge at Holden Vale on Saturday afternoon.
She said: "Joanne and I have been chatting about our accidents across the ward."
