HOLIDAY TV overall was garbage, but I got a few laughs. The best film for me was still "The Wizard of Oz" -- and I actually saw it all the way through in one sitting. It is unbelievable to think it was made in 1939. It must have been magical for the children of the time to see the sepia turn to full colour -- because 60 years on it still is for me. It is so clever.

The scarecrow, who wanted a brain, told Dorothy "Some people without brains do an awful lot of talking." How true.

And I'm sure the Munchkins today wouldn't be credited as "The Singer Midgets" -- it's just not PC. I just love it -- and I was 50 before I read the book.
