LENE MARLIN: Where I'm Heading (Virgin) -- Responsible for what I think was the best ballad of last year, Norwegian Lene returns to her poppy roots for this offering. Nothing wrong with that, but it isn't her at her best. (7/10) DH
STEPS: The Way You Make Me Feel (Jive) -- After a couple of surreal, retro attempts to woo chartbuyers, Steps are back at their "best" for want of a better word. Catchy, infectious and with the ability to make self-respecting people dance like idiots, Steps have found themselves another hit here. (7/10) DH
FRAGMA: Everytime (Positiva) -- If it ain't broke, why fix it? Not a phrase from Bob the Builder but one from the people behind Fragma, who have kept to the formula deployed on Toca's Miracle last year. You'll hear it on the dancefloors but it isn't anything special. (6/10) DH

GATECRASHER NATIONAL ANTHEMS (Sony) -- The Sheffield club always try to lead the way with the new tunes, but this one is mish mashed with lesser-known mixes of the better-known dance tracks of the last year. OT Quartet, Da Rude, Bob Sinclair and Delerium are among the mix here. While it made sound the same, the effort put in the mixing makes it sound fresh every time. (9/10) DH
