TWO intrepid managers from Asda in Accrington are looking to scale the heights to raise cash for a children's charity.
Kieran Riding and James Birney are in training to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in Africa, and their sponsorship efforts have been given a timely boost by Perrys of Accrington.
The Peugeot dealership has donated an initial £100 and has pledged further donations for every car sold as a result of a two car display on the roundabout outside Asda.
All money raised by Kieran and James will go to Whizz Kidz, a children's charity which specialises in providing under 18's with completely restricted mobility with motorised wheelchairs to enable them to reach their full potential in every aspect of their lives.
Kieran, availability manager at Asda, said that climbing Kilimanjaro was a once in a lifetime experience.
"We are both eager to get out to Tanzania to begin the challenge," said Kieran. "The support we are getting from Perrys and our other sponsors will hopefully make the effort worthwhile."
Wendy Ormerod, of Perrys, said they are always keen to support local charity fund raising efforts and were delighted to have teamed up with Asda.
