PLANS to rebuild the middle warehouse of a carpet underlay factory, which was destroyed by fire in November, have been submitted to Rossendale Borough Council. More than 150 firefighters tackled the blaze at Duralay, Haslingden, six weeks ago, estimated to have caused millions of pounds-worth of damage.
The middle section of the warehouse and most of the company's stock was wiped out by the fire, although fire crews managed to stop it spreading to the main production part of the factory.
The firm, which employs more than 300 people, managed to restart production two days after the blaze.
The firm hopes to rebuild the factory as it was previously and councillors were expected to approve the plans at a meeting of the engineering and planning sub-committee tomorrow.
