A WOMAN was today recovering in hospital after being stabbed in the throat.
Police arrived at the first-floor flat at Homestead, Clayton Brook, at 9.10pm last night, where paramedics treated the 50 year old.
A man aged 44, also at the scene, was arrested and will be questioned by police later today.
Neighbours named the woman as Maureen Lythgow, who lives with her partner, Noel.
Residents were shocked at the news today. One said: "We saw all the police and ambulance last night but we did not know what was going on. It's awful."
The woman was taken to Chorley Hospital before being transferred to Royal Preston Hospital. Her injuries are not described as life threatening.
