GIZMO the wandering Highland Terrier is back home after going walkabout from the family home in Blackburn.
Two-year-old Saskia Curry was left heart-broken when the six-month-old pup escaped through an open garden gate in Shorrock Lane on New Years Eve.
The pure white dog was given to the little girl as a present for her second birthday in July.
But after a two-day adventure around Blackburn, mum-of-two Elaine Garvey, of Livesey Branch, spotted the terrier in the road close to where she lives.
She said: "I was going to the shops and he was in the road. He nearly got run over twice. He just followed me home and then I noticed the story in the Lancashire Evening Telegraph, so I rang the owner and took him round.
"He's an absolutely lovely dog, the children really fell in love with him. The only trouble is they want a dog of their own now."
Saskia's mum Loz Jewel said: "We are just so pleased to have him back. He has been following Saskia round all over the place since he got back.
"We'd like to thank the Lancashire Evening Telegraph and everyone who helped look for Gizmo, especially the lady who found him."
