NORTH FERRIBY UTD 0 CHORLEY 3
CHORLEY produced an eye-catching performance on Humberside to complete their first league double of the season and inflict North Ferriby's heaviest home defeat for five years.
Striker Andy Mason, on loan from Leigh RMI, brought extra sharpness to the Magpies' approach play and capped an impressive debut with Chorley's third goal in this UniBond First Division clash.
But it wasn't all plain sailing as the home side dominated most of the first half and Simon Marsh made an outstanding save diving to his left to keep out a strong Graham Botham shot.
Against the run of play however, Chorley seized the lead on 32 minutes when Mason linked well with David Eatock whose cross was converted by Paul Fleming with a far-post diving header.
Marsh twice rescued the Magpies before the break, whipping the ball off Botham's toes and then saving smartly from Darren Phillips' powerful downward header.
The decisive moment came just 20 seconds into the second half when Mason released Adam Critchley down the left and his cross was bundled in by Danny Mills for his 14th goal of the season.
This second goal gave Chorley licence to knock the ball around with increasing confidence and fittingly Mason underlined their superiority with a very coolly taken third goal on 76 minutes. Receiving from Eatock on the edge of the box, he burst between two defenders and sidestepped the keeper before rolling the ball into the empty net to confirm a fine victory which takes Chorley into the top six.
