FOLLOWING your articles on gritting in Blackburn town centre during the recent heavy snowfall, I write to ask where did the council grit?
It certainly was not outside the town centre cinema where, without warning and in spite of suitable footwear, I fell heavily last Friday lunch time, firstly on to my lower back which resulted in my head whipping back and crashing on to the pavement.
I was helped to my feet by two kindly passers-by, but I was so badly shaken that I had to be taken home instead of going to work. I am fortunate that I did not break any bones like another unfortunate reader (LET, January 4).
The town centre is not just outside the town hall, which seemed to be the only place that was gritted.
