REGARDING Blackburn's town centre not being gritted in the bad weather (LET, January 4), I agree that it should have been gritted everywhere.
Since we all pay our council tax, all the roads should be gritted, not just the main roads or bus routes.
Where I live is at the top of a 'horse-shoe,' so, when it is snowing or has iced over, it is dreadful and very dangerous.
In the snowfall on New Year's Eve, I had to abandon my car as I could not get it around the bend at the top of the 'horse-shoe' and after recently having a car stolen I was very worried.
I feel that the council should be doing more for us when the weather is bad and should also be prepared for sudden downfalls of snow.
