A PLAN to build a house in the car park of the former village pub in Newchurch has been put on hold.
Pendle Council's Barrowford and Western Parishes area committee was recommended to refuse full planning permission for the house on the site of the former Lamb Inn, Newchurch-in-Pendle. Councillors deferred their decision at the request of the applicant.
The scheme is opposed by the parish council which said the site is not big enough for a home and could lead to parking problems on the street. Neighbours also sent two letters objecting to the scheme to the borough council.
