A BURY woman whose life spanned three centuries has died at the age of 101.
Mrs Sarah Charlesworth passed away at the Alexander Nursing Home in Rochdale Road, Bury, on January 1.
Born in Manchester in 1899, she had one brother and three sisters. She had three children, two boys and a girl. Her eldest son died five years ago.
Mrs Charlesworth worked as a waterproof garment maker for many years prior to her retirement 30 years ago.
She had also enjoyed several hobbies, including gardening, indoor plants and sewing.
Mrs Charlesworth lived in Bury for many years and had been the nursing home's oldest resident since her arrival in 1996.
A funeral service will take place tomorrow (Wed Jan 10) at Blackley Crematorium.
