A MOTORIST was taken to North Manchester General Hospital with neck and shoulder injuries after the van he was driving was turned on its side following a collision with another vehicle.
The driver of the Toyota van, Mr Mohammed Ahmed (30), was travelling near the junction of Bury New Road and Kings Road in Prestwich when it was in collision with a passing car.
The van fell onto its side and travelled along the road a short distance before flipping back upright. The driver and passengers of the other vehicle, a VW Golf, which was extensively damaged, ran away from the crash scene.
Mr Ahmed from Rochdale was released from hospital after treatment to his injuries.
The accident happened around 9pm on Friday (Jan 5) as the van driver was delivering suits for a local Indian festival.
