BACK in August, I remember the club asking players and supporters to turn Ewood Park into "Fortress Ewood."

To their credit, the players, after going through a bad patch early doors, seem to be back on track, winning nine of 13 home games to date.

Currently fourth in the league and progressively getting their confidence back, the squad seems destined for the play-offs or, possibly, automatic promotion.

What concerns me of late is the lack of vocal support the team is getting from the stands at home. On Boxing Day, 23,000 home supporters were totally out-sung by 2,000 Brummies.

That was bad enough, but four days later 18,000 home supporters were again outsung by 500 Crewe followers.

And that is totally unacceptable.

To me, it's pointless turning up if you aren't prepared to give the lads your positive vocal backing until one actually scores a goal -- which has been the case at our last two home matches.

So, come on, all you True Blues, come rain or shine, if you want to see Blackburn Rovers back in the Premiership next season, turn up the volume and start giving the team Premiership backing.
