I AM dismayed by the reaction of Stan Ternent to the Burnley fans who have followed the club through thick and thin (LET, January 2 and 3).

I have been a season ticket holder and a regular at away matches for many years. What Stan does not seem to realise is that not only do these fans pay for his and his players wages, but they also turn up week in and week out to support a club that is more important to most of them than anything else.

Stan has said on a number of occasions that the Burnley fans are the best in the country. What has changed Stan?

I can tell you know why the majority of Burnley fans booed the decision to bring Ronnie Jepson on against Wolves. It was nothing to do with Ronnie, it was all to do with Stan's decision to bring off the only two proven strikers we have at the club.

I have never managed a football club, but I know you don't win matches unless you score more goals than the opposition -- and with no strikers on the pitch that is unlikely.

Every Claret I know is 100 per cent behind the players. It is Stan who has us puzzled more often than not with his bizarre substitutions.

Another four or five will see us safe in this division for next season. So come on, Stan, stop whingeing to the press and give us something to cheer on the pitch (again)!
