FLEETWOOD 0 CLITHEROE 3
ONE of non-league football's most prolific double acts guided Clitheroe safely through to the third round of the Marsden Trophy.
The home side were all at sea as Lee Cryer and Neil Spencer paved the way to glory for Dave Burgess's side and took their collective goals tally to 29.
Cryer's brace last night means he has 15 while Spencer is just one behind.
And the manager is delighted with the form of his hotshots: "There is great competition between them and that can only be for the good of the team and the club. All three goals were excellent and we played really well."
Clitheroe had the game in the bag inside 25 minutes. Cryer took possession of a loose ball in the box to round the defender and slot the ball home for the opener after 16 minutes.
Then he turned provider with a telling cross from which Spencer headed the second nine minutes later.
Early in the second half Cryer put the game beyond reach breaking clear of the home defence before keeping a cool head with an exquisite finish.
