BRIG carried on their excellent Christmas form by beating Gateshead 2-0 following a good result at Accrington Stanley on Boxing Day.
Bamber Bridge opened the scoring with Dave Carrol neatly lobbing the stranded keeper in what was an excellently-taken goal.
The home team came out in the second half a different team after a half-time grilling for wasting a whole string of chances.
Brig eventually made it safe with a close range shot from Greenwood following a superb corner kick by Aspinal.
Gateshead's defeat was too much to take for manager Matt Pearson who was sacked after the game.
