FULL marks to Phil Windle of the SPGB for enraging local Christians. Christianity has historically thrived on persecution, not least by converting its persecutors, especially Saint Paul. As a young man, I too debunked Jesus Christ as a deluded madman. I paid the price by being converted into a Roman Catholic. Cave Mr Windle, once you start thinking about the phenomenon of Christianity you are on the road to conversion whether you like it or not. Perhaps you should start by reading the Magnificat, especially the bits about ' He has put down the mighty from their seats and has exalted the humble and meek', also ' He has filled the hungry with good things and the rich he has sent empty away'. The gospel according to St Mark is usually recommended for beginners, and I also recommend the letter of St James 'come now you rich, weep and howl for the miseries that are coming upon you...' alternatively have a chat with any catholic priest. Christians always pray for those who persecute them. I shall pray for you Mr Windle, and for your comrades. The Christian church today can make good use of your energy and idealism, and offers you something no political party can ever give. Eternal life.
