Lytham 1st XI 2 Morecambe 3

AFTER the Christmas break Lytham looked rusty at times, but managed to dominate the first half with some good passing movements.

Quick thinking by David Hans released Chris Hadley down the wing and then after combining with Craig Nuttall, Tom Atkinson was on hand to score from close range.

Morecambe then equalised on the break and took the lead just after half-time.

Lytham equalised afetr a good passing movement involving four players, Charles Batho providing the finishing touches.

Gradually the Christmas spirit took over, large gaps appeared in the defence and goalkeeper Daffyd Jones was called upon to pull off some of good saves.

But this did not stop Morecambe scoring the winner just before the break.

Lytham 2nd XI 1 Morecambe 4

PLAYING a friendly against a team two divisions higher than themselves was always going to be a tough task but LSA started strongly with Gareth Gettings starring in mid-field. Unfortunately a mistake allowed Morecambe to get round the back and score against the run of play.

Two minutes from a badly taken LSA corner, Morecambe broke out and scored from a penalty corner.

Just before half-time good work by Masten Bouckley, sadly in his last game for the club, enabled him to link up with Gettings before Adelle Brown, on temporary Christmas loan from a National League team scored with a well struck shot.

Morecambe scored two more with LSA having just as many chances all to no avail.

BETTER news from the 3rd XI who won 4-0 with goals from David Waby, Dave Burns, "Butch Dingle" Burnett and Danny Cottier-Brown.

Meanwhile the 4th XI did even better winning 6-0 with goals from Mike Gannon, Chris Malings, Jake Lavon and a MIke Gannon hat-trick. And it could have been more if not for an excellent perfromance from the Morcambe goalkeeper.

LSA Badgers lost 3-0 away to North Stafford.
