LOUIS Tussauds Waxworks on Blackpool Promenade came close to becoming one giant candle this week after the fluorescent sign on the front of the building mysteriously caught fire.
Steve Marshall from Leisure Parcs, who own the popular seafront attraction, said a passer-by came in on Tuesday just after 4.30pm to say the sign was in flames.
Steve said: "We called the fire brigade who turned up soon after and put the fire out. Although we are awaiting written confirmation we think it is due to an electrical fault."
The sign, pictured here after the fire, is due to be removed soon and a replacement found. Steve added: "The fire didn't spread to the inside and none of the models melted."
