IT was first time lucky for a Poulton teenager as he passed his driving test. But for Jamie Neilson it was more of a challenge than most, because he has only one leg.
Eighteen-year-old Jamie suffers from osteosarcoma, a disease which affects the bones.
But that hasn't stopped him learning to drive and his instructor says he was a natural.
"My instructor and I got on really well and I found learning to drive easier than I had expected," said Jamie, pictured here with his instructor Dave Walsh from BSM Mobility.
"My family has been very supportive and now I can't wait to get my car so I can take off on my own.
"I am one of the first of my circle of friends to drive, but suspect when I get my car, those who have been giving me a lift will say it's my turn to be chauffeur."
Dave is based at the company's Clifton Street branch. Mobility training is available to most people with disabilities in specially adapted cars.
