A POULTON nursery school has scored top marks after its first ever OFSTED report.

Happy Days Nursery in Carr Head Lane, Poulton, only opened last November with a total of three staff and eight pupils, but when it came to their recent inspection they were already near to full capacity.

The report praised the nursery for being well organised, providing a wide range of activities and offering excellent teaching. It was also commended for the good behaviour of the children and the close links between parents and teachers.

Jackie Hoyle, owner and manager of the nursery, thanked her 13 staff, without whom she said the report wouldn't have been so positive. "I would like to say thanks to all the staff for their hard work, patience and dedication."

She also said that they made such a good impression that inspectors said they would not need to come again for four years, instead of the usual two.

"I am so proud of the report, especially when you consider that we started from scratch. We now have 50 children and a full waiting list so we must be doing something right," said Mrs Hoyle.
