I HAVE been asked to correct your report about the Red Brick Theatre in Blackburn (LET, January 8).
The current work is still to start, but has to be completed before the end of March. This has been made possible by £100,000 contribution from Blackburn Regeneration Partnership.
It is the second phase in the reconstruction work at the theatre and should, when completed, enable us to get a Public Entertainment Licence for a seating capacity of 184.
Michael Berry is our Promotions Director and his brief is to raise money to purchase the adjacent building (Reeds) which we are hoping to convert into an arts centre, as well as offering support to the theatre by way of backstage and rehearsal facilities.
Our ability to apply for lottery money to complete the full conversion of the theatre to a 350-seat venue depends on our recent submission being accepted by the Arts Council of England.
MISS C KAY (Chairman), Blackburn Theatre Trust Ltd., The Red Brick Theatre, Aqueduct Road, Ewood, Blackburn.
