THE Millennium Year proved a busy one for local rescue volunteers.
Bolton Mountain Rescue Team, which recruits from Bury and provides support to the police and ambulance service in the south of the borough, witnessed its busiest year ever with volunteers attending 92 recorded incidents throughout the year 2000.
And, 2001 got off to a busy start with the team turning out to ten call-outs in the first four hours of the New Year.
Bolton MRT are now seeking to recruit new members to help cope with an expected rise in call-outs during the next twelve months.
If you are over 18, a reasonably fit hillwalker or climber, and able to commit to Wednesday evening training and the call-outs themselves, then send a £1.50 S.A.E. to Mr Gary Rhodes, 38 Heathfield Drive, Tyldesley, Manchester, M29 8PW for an information pack.
