DYNAMIC duo Sharon McGuire and Carrie Atkinson are getting into gear for an African adventure.
The girls, from Ramsbottom's TNT depot, will be heading for the Great Rift Valley in Kenya next month to take part in a 400km cycle trek from Mount Kenya to Nairobi for cerebral palsy charity Scope.
So far the pair are well on track to finding the £5,000 minimum needed for the journey after a series of raffles, a 70s night and a "Donate a Teddy" campaign.
Sharon (29), of Robert Street, Stubbins, said: "I've been to Kenya before, but stayed in a hotel and, although I wasn't disappointed, I would have preferred it to be more basic and challenging.
"I fell in love with it when I was there and I am really looking forward to going back."
And Carrie (21), of Saxon Close, Elton, said: "I'm nervous and excited. The furthest I've been is Gran Canaria.
"I'm definitely ready for the trip. I have been riding to work and back every day!"
