PAUL Terzis has thrown up a selection smokescreen ahead of Sunday's NFP heavyweight clash at Oldham.
In a deliberate attempt to get the psychological upper hand over opposite number Mike Ford, the Leigh Centurions head coach will not declare his team until 30 minutes before the match.
"I know what my team will be," Terzis declares. "But I'm not going to be telling Fordy until the last possible minute. I'll be keeping him guessing."
At the centre of the mind games is stand-off Simon Svabic who missed Leigh's big win at Chorley with a minor knee injury. Only the team will know before Sunday whether Svabic's in or out.
And then there's prop Dave Bradbury. He was rested for the Chorley game but would expect to figure at Boundary Park against one of his former clubs.
But Terzis is giving nothing away. "All I will say is that the team that runs out at Oldham won't be the same team that ran out at Chorley."
The only thing Terzis will confirm is that winger Alan Hadcroft (bruised hip) and John Duffy (bruised thumb) have fully recovered.
The Hilton Park boss makes no apologies for keeping Ford in the dark. "It's an important game and if we can get an edge by not declaring the side and keeping him guessing, then it will be worthwhile."
But Ford has taken an opposite view. "I'm not worried if Leigh know our line-up in advance or not. I'm more concerned about how we play, rather than what Leigh put up against us."
Ford has named the same starting 13 that beat Widnes in their last game two weeks ago but is waiting for a fitness check on skipper Andy Proctor who missed that game because of a leg injury. If he recovers Proctor is likely to take a place on the bench.
Selection secrecy apart, Leigh are relishing the challenge that unbeaten Oldham will put in front of them.
"These are the type of games players want to be involved in and they're the type of game I want to coach," adds Terzis. "It's another really good yardstick to see where we are at the moment.
"I can sense that our team is up for this one. It's a similar feeling I had before we played Widnes. The lads have been really buzzing in training this week and they can't wait for the game.
"I've studied Oldham's game both this year and last and they haven't changed things much. They play a very consistent and methodical game and have a high completion rate. Fordy has improved them over the last couple of years so I'm expecting him to stick to the tried and tested methods that's worked for him so far.
"One area they have improved is by the signing of Danny Arnold and Daryl Lacey. It gives them more firepower on the flanks.
"But we know full well that if we get our game right, then we'll trouble most teams. That's our main priority. If we play consistent rugby league for 80 minutes, then I believe we'll come up with the money."
