A SHOPKEEPER and his son have appeared in court charged with a £67,000 benefit fraud.
Mohammed Aslam, 71, of the Spice Shop, Blackburn Road, Accrington, and son Tariq Aslam, 32, of Cornelian Street, Blackburn, are charged with conspiring to obtain £35,000 from the Benefits Agency by making false claims and conspiring to obtain £32,000 in benefits from Blackburn with Darwen Council.
Both appeared at Preston Crown Court for a preliminary hearing and were remanded on unconditional bail until April 4.
