Rose Bridge A 30 UGB 12 NOT surprisingly, the young UGB side took time to get going in their first game for eight weeks due to the bad weather and the Christmas break.
This enabled the strong Rose Bridge outfit to build up a 14-0 lead before the visitors were rewarded for some enterprising play with a try by Griffiths after a strong run by second-row D. Sorby. Youngster D. Ball converted to make it 14-6 at half-time.
After the break the game was evenly balanced until UG were reduced to 12 men by a sin-binning. To their credit though UG finished strongly with a try by Atherton, converted from the touchline by Ball.
The UG man-of-the-match and players' player was J. Birkett.
