RADCLIFFE Boro have been thrown out of the Lancashire FA Marsden Trophy for fielding ineligible players in the game against Morecambe at Stainton Park on Tuesday night.
The first round tie should have been played way back on November 14, but because of the weather and other commitments, the game was put back.
The LFA rules state, however, that players must be registered by their clubs seven days before the original date of the tie to enable them to play.
Injuries and transfers in the period since November meant that Boro didn't have enough eligible players available and were forced to field several unregistered players.
Boro boss Kevin Glendon said: "This tie should have been played back in November. We are not happy about it, but there's not a lot we can do."
