BRASS band players aim to do some serious fund-raising to help them keep blowing their own trumpets.
The building owned and used by Haslingden and Helmshore Brass Band for rehearsals is in urgent need of repairs to the roof, which is now letting in water at an alarming rate.
The cost of repairs is expected to be quite high and as the band is self-sufficient extra fund-raising is needed to pay the bill.
"Over the past couple of years we have been able to patch the roof but it is now at the point where serious work need to be done," said secretary Andrea Holland.
"Although the band is in a healthy position with regards to players and instruments and we raise enough money from concerts and events to pay our way each year, the band is not in a strong enough position financially to cover the cost of the roof."
If anyone would like to make donations or help with fund-raising they should contact Andrea on 01706 410490 (evenings).
