A GOLBORNE couple are to be honoured for providing foster care for decades.
Ann and Ray Crosby have been looking after children on behalf of Wigan social services department for 25 years.
On January 25, the Crosbys and other local foster parents will have all their effort, hard work and care recognised at a special ceremony at Aspull Village Club. Mayor of Wigan, Cllr Joan Hurst will be present along with the Bernard Walker, director of social services and Cllr Brian Strett, cabinet member for health and social services. Cllr Strett said: "We want the carers to know how much we value their work and commitment." More than 90 invitations have been sent out for the event.
