AN 85-year-old woman was robbed of £300 after she answered her door to a youth who claimed his ball had gone into her front garden.
The pensioner answered a call at her home in Kipling Grove, Sutton Manor, between 6.30pm and 8pm on Thursday, January 4.
A boy, believed to be about 12 or 13 years of age, said he had kicked his ball into her garden and the pensioner went to retrieve it. When the pensioner went back inside she discovered a second person had entered her home through the back door, searched the premises and stolen £300 in cash.
