A 24-YEAR-OLD Colne man was ordered to stand trial at Preston Crown Court when he appeared before Blackburn magistrates charged with a property repair deception.
Ian William Stevens, of Birtwistle Avenue, is charged with obtaining several thousand pounds in cash from an 80-year-old Blackburn woman by deceiving her into believing he was going to carry out repairs to her property and then taking her to the building society to withdraw cash to pay for the work.
Stevens was remanded in custody until February 9 for the preparation of committal papers.
