DAISY HILL 2 PADIHAM 1
PADIHAM suffered a surprise 2-1 away defeat against Daisy Hill on Saturday, but had only themselves to blame for an under-par performance.
Goals from Paul Prescott (12 mins) and Dominic Shinks (13 mins) exploited the Storks simple inability to defend against blinding sunshine and opponents who were prepared to adapt to the ground conditions and get on with the game.
In the second half Padiham reduced the arrears in the 67th minute when Shaun Kendall chipped in a shot from 20 yards but the dismissal of John Harrison for a second bookable offence ended the game for the Storks.
After the final whistle the frustration which had built up during the second half over the decisions made by one of the assistant referees boiled over and Padiham full back Darren Fullard and Storks manager Graham Howarth were both sent off for comments allegedly made to the assistant referee on the way back to the dressing rooms.
