FORMER Blackburn Rovers star Fred Pickering raised a glass to the success of a Blackburn pub at the weekend.
The ex-footballer officially opened The Moorings pub, in Bolton Road, which was bought by businessman Gerry Bell, who owns several pubs, including The Railway Tavern, Bacup.
Ten bar staff, waiters and waitresses and three chefs will work at the pub and restaurant. The Moorings will be continue to be managed by Sue Gallagher, who was promoted from assistant manager in June 2000.
