PLANS for a new community sports complex will be discussed this week.
Blackburn with Darwen Council wants to set up the facility which will include 10 multi-use, all weather pitches, at Queens Park High School, Blackburn.
The project will see all facilities used by pupils during the day and opened up to the community at night and school holidays.
It includes changing rooms and car parking.
The council is currently seeking a developer to push ahead with the scheme and fund all start up costs.
It has already been consulting with the school, the private sector and local councillors on how best to proceed with the facility.
The school will not be asked to contribute to the cost of the scheme, which is as yet unknown.
The council's executive committee meets on Thursday to discuss the proposal.
