ATHLETICS:Paralympic silver medallist Mark Brown has turned from runner to race organiser -- but has found he prefers to keep his trainers on!
The marathon runner is, with Burnley College, organising a Burnley 10km multi-terrain run which will start from Towneley High School on March 18 at 12 noon.
"It's more nerve racking organising than racing," said Burnley's Brown. "I appreciate all race organisers now. It is a lot more difficult than I expected!"
The race will raise money for cancer and there is also a fun run of one-and-a-half miles for any age.
"The aim is to just encourage people to take part in sport at all levels," said Brown who is now looking forward to the Commonwealth Games in Manchester in 2002.
"It's an ideal venue, around Towneley Hall and the triangle, and it is also an ideal way for me to give something back to the sport."
