I CONGRATULATE Frank Harrop for his comments concerning the crossroads at Marsh House Lane/Roman Road/Hoddlesden Road, Darwen (Letters, January 2).

Something needs to be done urgently before there is another fatal accident.

I, too, can confirm there is at least one accident a week and damage done to signposts etc. from previous accidents still has not been rectified.

I have noticed that there are calming roundabouts in other places not nearly as dangerous, so why have the people of Hoddlesden to take their lives into their hands every time they use these crossroads?
