CHILDREN playing with matches are being blamed for a small fire which resulted in a Bury pub being evacuated.
Drinkers and staff at The Crow public house in Bell Lane were forced to wait on the street as two crews of firefighters tackled the flames in the first-floor living area. Fire damage was contained to the carpet.
One man was given oxygen at the scene after racing into the smoke-filled lounge in an effort to extinguish the fire. He declined hospital treatment.
