ELDERLY people in Bury face being short-changed by new government care legislation, according to a leading housing charity.
Methodist Homes, which runs the Epworth Grange Nursing Home in Chirmside Street, Bury, say that long-term care provision put forward in a new Parliamentary Bill is inadequate.
They argue that the Health and Social Care Bill allows free nursing care to be provided to all, at the expense of those living in their own homes who need routine non-medical care.
