Ulverston 8 Portico Panthers 18
LANCASHIRE Cup winners Portico eventually proved too strong for Ulverston but they had to come from behind to do it.
The home side led 8-0 at the break, thanks to two unconverted tries, after a first half of end-to-end action.
But in the second half Portico's strength and fitness began to tell.
They opened their account when Mike Hobin raced through a gap and rounded the full-back to score under the posts and add the conversion.
And he added his second shortly afterwards, again showing pace and balance, after good work by the pack.
Portico continued to pile on the pressure and after Ulverston had been forced to drop out from beneath their own posts three time, the visitors finally made sure of victory when Paul Ashhurst stretched over to score and Hobin added his third conversion to complete the soring
Ulverston gave the man-of-the-match award to Craig Peel but he was closely followed by try-scorers Mike Hobin and Paul Ashurst.
