A GANG of local froth-blowers wonder if anyone can clock up an answer to the following little yedscratter.
The argument simmering at the town-centre Wheatsheaf pub over the past several weeks concerns the packets in which Clock Face crisps were once dispensed. Or, more precisely the firm's logo which, naturally enough, featured the face of a clock.
The crisp firm has now sadly vanished from the St Helens scene, but what Joe Appleton (who forwarded the puzzler) and the rest of the taproom gang want to know is what time was showing on that clock face?
No-one seems able to agree on where the fingers were pointing; and apparently there's a pint or two resting on the final outcome.
ANY knowledgable reader able to put 'em all out of their agony?
