Prescot RU 11 Oswestry 15
UNBEATEN league leaders Oswestry came to Prescot expecting another easy victory but the home side had other ideas and in the end were unfortunate not to win.
Prescot opened the scoring with two penalties by centre Chris Leigh, but Oswestry finished the first half stronger and two-well worked tries saw them lead 12-6 at half-time.
Oswestry increased their advantage with a penalty goal but Prescot took control from then on and launched a number of unsuccessful raids into the visitors' 22 before scrum-half Ste Whitfield sent Chris Leigh through for a try in the corner.
However, it wasn't enough and Oswestry hung on to take victory. Man of the match for Prescot was Ste Whitfield with Howard Hughes and Kevin O'Keeffe also in good form.
