A SHOPLIFTER missed out on hitting the jackpot when he stole a National Lottery ticket machine from a Bury store.
The chancer walked into the Spar late shop in Walmersley Road shortly after 9.30pm on Thursday (Jan 11).
Pushing a young female shop assistant to one-side, the thug ripped the £500 machine from the counter and fled. The girl suffered minor bruising during the incident.
Sadly for the thief, there was no money in the printing machine.
He is described as white, aged 25 years, of slim build, 5ft 6in tall and wearing a dark hat and a green jacket with a white band around the middle.
Any witnesses should contact Bury CID on 0161 856 8150.
