A WOMAN was seen by police standing over another woman who had blood pouring from a head wound, a court was told.
Blackburn magistrates heard that the victim did not want to complain of an assault but Carol Ann Walker was arrested because she was shouting abuse at the officers and members of the public and refused to leave.
Walker, 33, of Staffa Crescent, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly. She was given a conditional discharge for 12 months and ordered to pay £55 costs. Stephen Parker, defending, said the women knew each other and Walker felt the other woman had interfered in her domestic situation. "She had said her piece and was walking off when the other woman ran after her and took hold of her," said Mr Parker.
"The police can only react to what they see but had they got there a few minutes earlier they might have seen the other woman chasing down the street after my client."
