WORK to improve the bridge over the Sankey Canal on the A58 Blackbrook Road near the Ship Inn pub in St Helens is due to start on Monday, January 29 for six weeks.
The vital improvement work is being funded by St Helens Council and carried out by Mayfield Plant under the supervision of council engineers and includes excavation, new waterproofing and remedial work.
The council say motorists may experience slight delays but these will be kept to a mimimum and they plan to maintain a two-way traffic flow for most of the time. However, they apologise for any disturbances which may be experienced.
