MERSEYSIDE Police is looking for four-legged recruits to join the fight against crime.
The force's dog section needs donated German Shepherd dogs to join 48 other working canines. Animals aged between 12 months and two years are needed.
Inspector Tony Dean, head of Merseyside Police Dog Section, said: "The canine crime fighters play a key role in helping to make Merseyside a safer place. There is currently a shortage of German Shepherd dogs and I would be interested to hear from anyone who can help."
Anyone who may have a dog to donate for whatever reason can contact the dog section on 0151 777 8789 or 8788. Arrangements will be made to visit the dog and assess its suitability.
