PNE fans have issued a rallying cry of support for the team after a recent dip in form.
Memories of last season's Division Two championship are distant as the team have been badly hit by injuries in recent weeks.
After last weekend's defeat at Wimbledon manager David Moyes locked his team in the dressing room for more than an hour for a major dressing down.
As the team tries to get back to winning ways, The Citizen took to the streets of Preston to discover the views of the club's supporters.
PNE fan Alan Yates, of Walton-le-dale, Preston, believes more money should be made available to the club saying: "They need to put some more money into the side. Spending money on David Healey is the right way to go.
"I think David Moyes is a good manager doing a decent job though."
Preston resident Wayne Norton, of Moor Lane, believes the club should be happy with a top ten finish.
He said: "The manager needs time to get things right. The club only got promoted last season so it will take a bit of time.
"At the moment we would have to be pleased with a top ten finish."
Friends Joanna Jackson and Amy Robinson both believe that a possible solution could be to loan more players on the fringes of Premiership first teams.
Joanna said: "They had Eric Meijer on loan from Liverpool earlier in the season and they loaned David Beckham from Manchester United five or six years ago."
Lancaster resident Mark Smith believes the club needs a cash boost with more investment. He added: "We spent £1.8m on David Healey showing we're moving in the right direction.
"But look at clubs like Fulham. They've more money to spend on new players."
