MORAL dilemmas will come under the spotlight when a church discussion group sets up regular monthly meetings.
On January 25 at 7.30pm in Nazareth Unitarian Chapel, Knight Hill, Padiham, the first ethical living discussion will be held when the issue will be -- is locking up more people a way to create a society of law and order?
Minister, the Rev David Usher said: "Things often occur in the news which have profound and troubling moral implications, but there is usually not a place in which to explore one's own moral responses.
"The conjoined twins is a recent example. Was it right to perform that operation even though it meant the certain death of one twin and was against the wishes of parents?
"On what so we base out moral decisions? This discussion forum, called ethical living, will be an opportunity to explore the moral arguments of topical situations. Its purpose is not to prescribe one form of morality, but to understand the foundations of our moral decisions."
