THORNTON CLEVELEYS U10s A 1KIRKHAM A 0
A DOUR midfield battle Kirkham should have won. That they didn't was down to Steve Wilson in goals. An Adam Richardson goal, one minute from time, stole the show for Thornton.
THORNTON CLEVELEYS U10s B 1 KIRKHAM B 4
THE Lions found themselves 1-0 down early doors and came under the cosh as Kirkham put the pressure on. The Lions found their way back and had a couple of good chances to equalise. The resulting clearance from one of these chances set up Kirkham's second goal to send the Lions in 2-0 down at the break. The Lions started lively in the second half and made frequent attacks on the Kirkham goal but tried to walk in instead of shooting. Kirkham added another two goals before Dane England scored a consolation goal for the Lions. Joe Bowley and Dane England were the pick of the bunch for TCFC.

THORNTON CLEVELEYS U17s 1 WYRE VILLA 0
A VERY competitive game. Thornton took time to start to pass the ball around but when they did they opened the Wyre defence up only to find the Wyre goal keeper in excellent form. No score at half-time, Thornton pushed forward and a superb ball from Jamie Hastings found Craig Whitewood on the back post and Harold Strachan struck the ball home. Thornton's defence was outstanding with Ben Duxbury in fine form as sweeper. Man of the match was Matthew Clarke with a gritty display at the right of midfield.
